Alrene Richards Barr receives the Honour of the Order of Distinction from Jamaica

On Jamaica's 61st Independence Day, Alrene Richards Barr received the Honour of the Order of Distinction from Jamaica. ™Remaining true to the spirit of my hometown and following the influence of parents with high moral and ethical standards has afforded me to receive the Honour of the Order of Distinction from Jamaica. The Government of Jamaica and the Airports Authority of Jamaica's hospitality and graciousness as I received this honour remains unmatched as I humbly celebrated with family, friends, colleagues and mentors. Thank you, Belinda Williams, not only for lifelong friendship, but also for hosting this occasion with reverence and generosity. It is indeed a blessing to belong to a village of champions that shine light on my path, hold me accountable to living a life full of God's glory and allow me to love with all I have. I am honored and humbled.∫ (LinkedIn)

ATL's senior director of International Affairs, Alrene Richards Barr has spent her career in aviation cultivating relationships between Hartsfield-Jackson and airports throughout the world. Her commitment to fostering advantageous connections is a quality that compelled government officials of her native home, Jamaica, to award the Honour of the Order of Distinction to Richards Barr. The honor is conferred upon any citizen of Jamaica, or any distinguished citizen of another country, who renders outstanding and important service to Jamaica. She is the only person to receive this award in the field of aviation. Always holding herself accountable for influencing countries' opinions of ATL's operations, technology, training and culture, over 20 years ago Richards Barr established an international instructional program for ATL's Fire Rescue team to provide hands-on training for newly onboarded members of Jamaica's Fire Brigade. It is programs such as this–coupled with her record of successfully overseeing numerous Sister Airport agreements–that have yielded top honors and high regard in the international affairs community for the esteemed leader. Congratulations to our very own Alrene Richards Barr! (Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport)
