Flo Paris
Andrew “Tex” Allen’s American Folklorical Ensemble and Global Vision Contemporary Fine Art Gallery Artist and curator Heidi Powell-Prera hosted pop ups Saturday Mornings in October at Flo Paris’ Westheimer Location from 11am-1pm. It was a good opportunity to catch Tex playing piano with bassist Arthur Moyler in a casual festive atmosphere. Artists, poets, and lovers of Jazz gathered to enjoy a little bit of togetherness. Lock downs, social distancing, and mask wearing mandates have put a stop to much of what artists and musicians are able to do; but not to their creative impulses. The mood was optimistic with talk of projects in the works during quarantine and plans for festivals and exhibitions. Houston’s art scene has gained International recognition and that has created an even bigger inspiration for area artists to create and get their work out there. Global Vision Contemporary Fine Art Gallery located inside the Post Oak Hilton is looking for artists and art collectors who are inspired to create unity and peace globally. Art and Music are universal languages, and artists and musicians have always been at the forefront of creating and enjoying the benefits of embracing diversity.
