Houston International Trade Development Council Celebrates Its 10th Annual G7 Awards Gala
The Houston International Trade Development Council (HITDC) celebrated their 10th annual Global Seven (G7) Awards presentation on Thursday, October 19, 2023, at the Junior League of Houston, Texas. With almost 200 distinguished guests in attendance including Honorary Consuls and Consuls General from Namibia, Japan, Indonesia, Pakistan, Guinea, Angola, and Switzerland, government and civic leaders, and diverse stakeholders, partners and friends who believe in the mission and vision of G7, the event was a great success!
The Global Seven (G7) Awards recognized and celebrated seven outstanding Houston-based international businesses and distinguished personalities that help make Houston a competitive player on the global stage. “I am so honored to have had the opportunity to host the 10th Annual G7 Awards ceremony and know that these individuals have made a difference in their communities and throughout the world,” stated Val Thompson, President and CEO HITDC. Portions of the proceeds from the dinner will support the HITDC Educational Scholarship Program.
The 2023 Honorees this year include Honorable Sylvester Turner, Mayor, City of Houston, “Global Impact;” Honorable Giti Zarinkelk P.E., Honorary Consul of Namibia, “Outstanding Diplomat;” Muhammad Saeed Sheikh, Houston Karachi Sister City Association, “Outstanding Humanitarian;” Ivette Mayo, CEO, Power on Heels Fund, Inc., “Outstanding Advocate;” Christina Zhou, Founder and CEO, Pacific One Investment, “Outstanding Community Leader;” Nicole Wilson, NW Investment Properties LTD, “Outstanding International Entrepreneur;” and Alan Helfman, President, Helfman Auto Dealerships, “Outstanding Philanthropist.”
