Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo

The Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo is the largest indoor livestock show and rodeo in the world. In operation since 1932. The Rodeo has raised $500 million in scholarship funds for their Texas Youth and Education program, quite an accomplishment. Two scholarship recipients spoke to the crowd about how far they’ve come thanks to the Rodeo Scholarship Program. The Rodeo will run from March 3 through March 22 in NRG Stadium. It is expected to draw over 25 million and have a representation of 75 countries. The Rodeo’s International Committee hosted the traditional Consul’s lunch on February 4 at NRG. The International Party will be held on March 6 at Bayou Place and Family Day for Consuls will be on March 7. During the Rodeo, they will hold seminars on livestock and agriculture. Hunger is a global crisis; agriculture is one of the most important global industries. Rodeo Houston has served to educate and share resources and innovations with the world.
