Q&A with Kenny Efunpo, AGPGC Properties “The Importance of Americans in Africa”

Interview by: Val Thompson, Publisher and CEO

Question: Mr. Efunpo, what do you think the American Government should do to leverage the import and export deficit with Africa? Could Liberia be the reference point to promote U.S. machinery and production?

Thank you Mr. Val. America is potentially positioned because of immigrants. You know that we are all immigrants in the United States. That means you will find at least one person that comes from any part of the world in America.

The United States government stands to gain a range of strategic and economic benefits by supporting African American diaspora initiative and engagement in Africa business ventures, extending low interest loans directly, this would stimulate Direct Foreign Investment into Liberia.

The strategic integration would foster substantial economic growth through trade expansion, agricultural, construction, and industrial equipment, real estate and tourism. African-American involvement would literally champion these businesses and consulting that would increase U.S. export and investments to Africa, these include assembly plants and consumer goods. These would diversify trade partners and open new markets for American companies.

The strategic initiative would also strengthen the U.S. Africa relationship. African Americans and diaspora Africans of U.S. descent and immigrants often serve as trusted bridges between American institutions, companies, and African communities and businesses, and sometimes country governments. These relationship matters because it enhances diplomatic relationships and fosters stable long-term U.S. influence on the continent.

The relationship and direct engagement of U.S. government involvement in Africa through African American citizens in terms of national security and stability. One of the benefits is that economic development reduces poverty and instability in African countries and enhances U.S. national security by addressing root causes of conflict and irregular migration.

This initiative would increase innovation and knowledge exchange among African American and diaspora entrepreneurs, reduce poverty and instability in African countries and enhance U.S. national security by addressing root causes of conflict and practices while bringing back innovative Africa mode, for example, mobile banking.

Realistically, the impact of African Africans on Africa’s economy continues to grow, and has dimensional phenomenon which is largely in correlation and ties to history, cultural exchange, financial, and entrepreneurial engagement and connections across and among African Diasporans. Awhile back, historically, this retrogressive constraint has been subjected to distance and geographical landscape, however, and recently, there are increased engagement in the area of investment and entrepreneurship. African Americans are increasingly investing in Africa markets through startups, real estate, industrial education and certifications and tourism.

Furthermore, there are other important benefits like job creation and an inclusive economy. United States of America supporting diaspora Naturalized immigrants and African American entrepreneurs can lead to job creation in both the U.S. and Africa. It will strengthen economic mobility for African Americans, and contribute to more equitable U.S. economic and social growth.

Mr. Efunpo, is there anything we haven’t discussed that you would like to share with our readers?

Finally, we talk about return on investment. Remittances and financial flows, while most remittances go from the U.S. to Africa. African American businesses and ventures can reverse this by generating Africa businesses’ revenue from U.S. based firms. African Americans and U.S. diaspora immigrants are U.S. economic, import and export strength to leverage international trade, especially in Africa. With these notions, U.S. goods, services, manufacturing products, including machinery would be represented in Africa.
