The Consul General of the Republic of the Philippines, Jerril G. Santos, welcomed Ambassador Jose Manuel G. Romualdez and friends of the Filipino community to the opening of the Consulate General of the Philippines in Houston, Texas.

The new Dean of the Consular Corps of Houston, Ambassador Juan B. Sosa, Consul General of Panama, and all of Houston’s Consular Corps, were in attendance to share and celebrate the moment. The crowd was proudly dressed in traditional Filipino attire.

Featured Artists were Cyril Maza and his wife Lorna Maza. A self-taught artist and an engineer, Cyril has been painting with his wife, Lorna, for sometime now. Painting has become their favorite pastime. During weekends, they get together and work side by side, both individually and as a team, working on the same canvas. Due to his work, they have lived in many different cities around the world. Coming together to paint has brought them closer.
